SJB Sports Rally!

   Today we congratulated our students that were on our sports teams and cheerleading!  These students showed true sportmanship and learned how to work as a team.  The JV boys basketball team came IMG_0934IMG_0938IMG_0940IMG_0942

in second in their conference and the JV girls basketball team came in first!  Thanks to all the students, coaches, and you, the parents for all the hard work and supporting our teams.

Big Shoulders Project

The Talent Show!

Taking Math Outside!

IMG_0867 IMG_0866 IMG_0864 The Eighth Graders are studing proportions and and using what we know about right triangles to measure the heights of taller objects.  We took a yardstick and measured it shadow and then we measured the shadow of the other obect.  By putting this in a proportion we were able to measure the heights of the street lights, flag pole and other tall objects without having to use a ladder.  Here are some pictures of our Eighth Graders at work.IMG

Field Trip to the Roseland Neighborhood
