The children have been very busy these past two weeks. They have enjoyed creating Spring in their school environment, even though it may not feel like Spring outside. The students creativity was expressed through their drawings of flowers. These are displayed in the hall and will be put in their portfolio.The portfolio will be sent home at the end of the year. The children really enjoyed using Spring stencils to trace and color. Another fun activity was ripping and cutting paper to make a Mosaic Masterpiece.
Literacy:Your child listened to many different Spring and Easter stories, "Bunny's Noisy Book," "Diary of a Spider," " One Brown Bunny," Jesus Loves Me," and "The Earth Is Good."
Reading is an excellent learning tool. It increases listening skills, memory skills and thinking skills and it is quality time well spent with your child.
Math: The students estimated how many Gummi worms were in the Estimation Jar.Here they used their sense of perception. Your child dictated to the teacher how many inches the Tomato and Gummi worm was. Then the teacher measured each worm to show how many inches each one was. Ask your child how long each worm was. Lastly the students learned number recognition,patterning,and the days of the week during calendar time.
Religion:Theme: God loves everyone and we need to be nice to all our classmates.Favorite religious songs,"The Seed Song," "God Made the Animals," "Jesus Is Coming," and "Easter People."
Important Information;
1. Thank you for all the great snacks. Due to your generosity,we will not send a snack calendar for April and May.
2. Please return your permission slip for our field trip if you have not done so. This way we can secure good seats.
Have a nice weekend,
Mrs. Eileen and Mrs. Susie
Dear Parents,

Math: The children used their sense of sight to find 3 and 4 leaf clovers in the sensory table. Next, they had to put the clovers in the right bucket according to the number of leaves.
Religion: A story about monsters was read. Ask your child what they remember about the story.
Tuesday: The children enjoyed helping to make green shakes. Art: Musical notes and stars were created as decorations for the Glimmer Auction.
Wednesday: Children enjoyed Gym with Miss Kim and playing outside.
